Previous love – Gaucha Mar, first try at adding video

Serous drought in Northern California – everyone is enjoying the huge rainstorm now.  The farm is soaked, the grass is sprouting, and the last fall leaves are finally blowing off the trees.

You don't have to buy the set-up for these, the refill can just be tied up by itself. Really just sugary stuff, but worth it a try with over half off at Christiansen's

Checked on La Prima today – she was happy as a clam and did not seem to want to go out in the swamp.  Hung up a boredom breaker “Likit” for her, just the refill, hanging from a hay bale twine.  Tomorrow she’ll have to do some quick work in the rain, don’t want to lose all conditioning.

Wish we had a covered arena right now…

Last horse ridden before taking the plunge and becoming a horse owner was Gaucha MAR, a beautiful PRE mare owned by Ana Gilmour of DressageNow in Granite Bay. Gaucha is a beautiful 7-year-old Andalusian mare, and like most horses I ride, she was for sale.

I miss this mare tremendously. And Ana too.

It was a wonderful opportunity to train with her at Los Lagos and to ride for Ana. Right before the sale, I got to show her at Starr Vaughn – such a treat.

With Gaucha at Starr Vaugn late last fall.

I learned a lot, she is such a wonderful PRE, and riding for Ana helped me tremendously. Thank you Ana for everything! And thank you Patrice Palmaer for being a most gracious driver and taking us to the show – much appreciated!

This was Gaucha’s sale video, she’s such a cutie.

Second video with me riding Gaucha will not load – I’m giving up now as it’s getting late…

    1. Yes, Gaucha is a fantastic mare. If I ever get the choice again, it will definitely be an Andalusian. The Likit remains strangely intact – this current mare is so picky… Then again, she spends all day outside and doesn’t really need a boredom breaker, what with the sugar and all. But really, it’s Valentine’s Day tomorrow – you’d think she’d like something sweet 🙂
