The Joy Of Reviewing Ride Videos

Finally had chance to see some video evidence of how schooling with Valiosa is coming along.

My European dressage trainer was back.  A stern guy, no planting kisses on his downy-fuzzed neck if someone’s looking.

He breathed heavy the whole time and produced two very shaky 3 minute videos.  Didn’t matter.  In between shakes, there was plenty to see.

The ride was OK, she felt beautiful a few times during canter!  So happy with her!

Well, you have no idea what it really looks like, until it’s all right there, in the video.

Ah, the content look of joy and accomplishment after reviewing the ride on the smart phone!  Everyone loves those reality checks, right!?

  1. The video is going to give you a fresh perspective of how things are going. It also gives you an insight on what the judges are seeing. You may need to restrain your contented look, LOL. πŸ™‚

PS – Make sure you download the video to your computer and breakdown the session. It’ll let you to make adjustments, if any, for the next training session(s).

    • πŸ˜‰ Yeah, the contented look – it’s just TOO much happiness there, isn’t it? πŸ™‚
Filming was done by my youngest. I love him to pieces. But really… A little less breathing and shaking and constant filming of his brother or a random dog (seriously!!) would make it SO much better πŸ™‚

    • Two weeks from now he’ll be back. This time, with some more instructions on how to hold the phone STILL while filming. (bribes will be involved)
Her canter is sure very “up”. My next goal is to create some true 3 beat to it, and more of a forward reaching stride. I think I’ve mentioned before she tends to feel a bit like a pogo stick. (a very soft and comfortable one, but still).
      I know. Picky…

    • Isn’t it GREAT! Very light. And by now, mine is prety beat up so I don’t have to care for it very much any more. Easy.
I got a new one, even nicer, but it’s saved for showing only.
      Such a shame.
Since we all know I ride so extremely often in shows πŸ™‚ Right.

  2. Hi Elinor!
‘Nice’ isn’t it looking at vids of how it’s going?! Haha, I did that with Hippach’s groundwork too and had the same face hahaha. Well, it does help πŸ˜€ I have another go in 2 hours from now πŸ™‚
Good luck with your beautiful horse.
    Love, Merel
